10. Roadside cross from 1922 in Skrzeszew intersection of Nowodworska and Szkolna streets
In 1922, a roadside Christian cross was
placed, to commemorate the First World
War, the 1920 Polish-Soviet War and the Poland’s
recovery of sovereignty. The plaque
on the cross bears three dates: 1914, 1918
and 1920 and a very meaningful inscription:
Suffering on the Cross, Resurrection through
the Cross, probably referring to the suffering
of the Polish people and the Poland’s
recovery of sovereignty after a long period
of oppression suffered at the hands of the
invaders.
